Community Voices:

TRAIN. PROTECT. PROVIDE.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve taken a deep dive into the three pillars that stand at the core of everything I want TRAIN HARD to become: TRAIN, PROTECT, and PROVIDE.

Each week, I shared my thoughts about what these words mean to me and why I think they are so important, but what truly moved me were the stories, reflections, and personal commitments you all shared in response.

Today, I wanted to share some of those replies. I hope these inspire you the way they’ve inspired me:

As I think through the meanings of Train, Protect, and Provide, it’s about me getting better every day and giving my kids an example of striving to be better every day. It’s about the tangible benefits of training myself and my children to be good people in this world, my ability to protect my family and others through physical preparedness, situational awareness, and self-defense. To Provide, we made the decision right before COVID to have my wife step away from her nursing job and stay home with our kids. One of the scariest decisions we’ve made, but looking back, one of the best. My attention is one of the most important things I can provide. My phone goes into lockdown at 6 pm and sits in my bedroom, leaving me time to be present with my kids and my wife.

Train, Protect, Provide to me means doing something different for the future generations of my family. My parents never exercised when I was growing up and did not show me the grit of getting after it. I hope to change the generational course of that for my family… I hope to emulate that now for my wife and children and I believe it will help me grow deeper bonds with each of them as I become someone reliable for them.

My husband has the onset of dementia, and I am his caregiver! Some days, my workouts seem harder than others, but I keep showing up! Stress has been a major factor in my life, and my diet has been off the charts. I keep on trying to be better day by day for me and my husband! This is my “why I TRAIN HARD!”

We are onto something special here at TRAIN HARD, not because of anything I am doing but because of the type of people we are bringing together.

YOU ARE THE AVERAGE OF THE PEOPLE YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH.
Share this knowledge with those in your life who are also driven to TRAIN, PROTECT, PROVIDE.
Together, we can build a brighter future by helping each other become the best version of ourselves.
